In the first game played in the new year at Łazienkowska Legia’s players were defeated 3-1 by their rivals from Białystok on Sunday evening. Legia’s opponents began the game with a great goal whose author was Michał Gajos in the 12th minute.
The first half finished with Jagiellonia’s 1-0 leading over Warsaw footballers.
Legia’s attitude in the second half was much worse. Rivals’ Patryk Tuszyński defeated debuting Arkadiusz Malarz for the second time in the game in the 54th minute. He completely surprised Warsaw team’s goalkeeper.
Legia’s Helio Pinto managed to score a face-saving goal for his club a few minutes before the end of the match. He decided to take a shot a few metres from Jagiellonia’s goal and he surprised their goalkeeper.
However, not more than three minutes later Michał Gajos struck the third goal for Jagiellonia.
Although Legia lost the game 1-3, the club from the capital of Poland is still first in the league table.
