Legia 5-1 FK Liepājas Metalurgs
In the second leg of the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round Legia Warsaw managed to defeat 5-1 their Latvian rivals, FK Liepājas Metalurgs. Marek Saganowski, who has recently returned to Legia after several years, showed his best side scoring three goals! Janusz Gol and Michał Żyro scored single goals. The face-saving goal for Latvians was struck by Vladimirs Kamešs.
In the first leg there was a 2-2 draw. Warsaw club won then 7-3 on aggregate.
It’s worth mentioning that in the second half of the match Latvian player Genādijs Soloņicins was punished with a red card by the referee for hitting his rival with the elbow.
Legia’s opponent in the third qualifying round will be Austrian SV Ried, the team which defeated Belarusian FC Shakhtyor Salihorsk.
