Europa League: Ajax Amsterdam 1-0 Legia
In the first leg of the UEFA Europa League 1/16 final which took place in Amsterdam on Thursday evening Legia Warsaw was defeated 1-0 by Ajax. Footballers from the capital of the Netherlands were prevailing distinctly in the first half which resulted in the only goal that was struck by Arkadiusz Milik in the 35th minute.
Legia decided to begin the second half with a courageous attitude and tried to attack Ajax’s goal as many times as possible. Warsaw footballers should have at least equalised. Nevertheless, Orlando Sa’s or Michał Żyro’s shots missed opponents’ goal.
Though the team from Poland lost 0-1, there’s still a chance to win the promotion to the 1/8 final of the competition by showing good performance in the second leg that takes place at Łazienkowska on Thursday evening.
