Peered: Piotr Rocki

Hugollek, Tomek Janus - Wiadomość archiwalna

It was obvious that the match against Ruch Chorzów was going to be the last for Piotr Rocki. Jan Urban let the footballer play in the match from the first minute so he could worthily say goodbye to Warsaw fans. He must have known that he was observed by LL!, because he was more active on the field than usually.

Before the break Rocki was trying to do everything he could to score a goal in his last appearance for Legia. Unfortunately his sight went haywire. Three shots of "Rocky" went wide, the fourth one was saved by Ruch's goalkeeper, Krzysztof Pilarz. However, it didn't discourage Warsaw supporters who often chanted attacker's name.
"It was very nice to hear the applause of fans who would like to see me in the team next season, but well... I found out about everything the day before yesterday and that's why it was very important to me to play in the match against Ruch. I want to thank the coach for giving me such opportunity. I also wanted to score a goal at Łazienkowska, but I had no luck" – said Rocki.

After the match Jan Urban admitted that Rocki didn't have to leave the club. "If he had played the whole season so good as he did today, such decision wouldn't have been made. The problem is that "Rocky" showed his best side in a match which was practically irrelevant" – thinks Legia's coach.
