Jóźwiak: We still have time for transfers
Marek Jóźwiak, the one responsible for transfers in Legia, denied the information which has been appearing in the media with respect to a few players. Jóźwiak states the following: "We are not in contact with Ireneusz Jelen, Euzebiusz Smolarek, or Papa Waigo N’Diaye. Grzegorz Rasiak can be my teammate in an old boys match - he’s not being taken into consideration".
The sports director also stated that Legia is not interested in any offensive players. "We have three fit attackers - Żyro, Kucharczyk and Hubnik. We want to focus on Polish youth. We are speaking to a few players, but we have to wait and see how Ariel Borysiuk’s situation will unravel. His departure will be a problem for us, but we still have time for transfers until the end of August".
However, Legia’s coach, Maciej Skorża, sees things a bit differently: "I hope that we will strengthen our team before the group stage of the Europa League. If we manage to advance, then I will try to persuade those in charge. Even if we don’t manage to advance, we still need one more offensive player".
