Champions League: Legia 1-1 Saint Patrick’s Athletic FC

In the first leg of the second qualifying round (Champions League) Legia’s footballers disgraced themselves drawing 1-1 with Irish team Saint Patrick’s Athletic FC on Wednesday evening.

Away club’s players, who are semi-professional footballers, showed much better attitude on the pitch than Legia. Warsaw team had problems with simplest situations. Nothing went well.
In the 38th minute Irishmen carried out a nice counterattack which finished with a goal struck by Joseph Fagan. Polish people gathered in the stands disbelieved in what they had just seen. Anyway, the first half finished with Saint Patrick’s 1-0 leading over Legia.
The second half was even worse than the first one. Warsaw club’s supporters were shouting to their players to pull themselves together and to start... playing. However, they didn’t hear… or listen to them. Only thanks to Miroslav Radović’s goal scored in the last minute of the match Legia saved somehow its face.
