Europa League: Legia 0-3 AFC Ajax
In the second leg of the 1/16 UEFA Europa League Legia lost 0-3 with Dutch AFC Ajax. Because in the first leg that took place in Amsterdam Warsaw footballers were defeated 1-0, Legia was knocked out of the tournament.
The game had to be played without any supporters in the stands which was a result of UEFA’s punishment.
The first goal was struck in the 12th minute by Arkadiusz Milik. He received the football in the central part of the field, ran several dozen metres and defeated Dušan Kuciak with a nice shot.
Two minutes later it was 2-0 for Dutchmen. After a corner kick and a commotion in the penalty area Nick Vierveger scored a header. Two minutes before the first forty-five minutes AFC Ajax struck its third goal. After Legia’s defenders’ terrible attitude Arkadiusz Milik scored his second goal with a flat shot.
The first half finished with Dutch team’s 3-0 leading over Legia. The result didn’t change and Legia had to reconcile itself to the defeat.
