Warsaw team’s coach Maciej Skorża had made a decision that his young footballers would play in the game. He only decided that older players would support youngsters in the defence. This was a test for Legia’s youth to see if they are better or worse than players from the Netherlands.
No goals were scored in the first half. Before the beginning of the second half Legia’s coach made a lot of changes in the squad – from among eleven footballers who were on the pitch for the first 45 minutes, only Jakub Szumski got a chance to keep on playing. After several minutes Legia’s performance was much more impressive than it was in the first half.
The first goal was scored by Jakub Kosecki in the 57th minute of the match. The same player was fouled in the penalty area by rivals six minutes later. Dickson Choto executed the penalty and it was 2-0 for footballers from the capital of Poland. The final goal was struck by Jakub Kosecki two minutes later.
