UEFA Champions League: FC Steaua București 1-1 Legia Warsaw
In the first leg of the fourth qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League Legia Warsaw drew 1-1 with FC Steaua in Bucharest on Wednesday evening. Romanian footballers were prevailing in the first half and only due to Warsaw team’s goalkeeper’s great attitude they only were able to strike one goal.
The situation changed after the break. Legia’s players started to attack Steaua’s goal and it was worth the effort because Jakub Kosecki defeated rivals’ goalkeeper and Warsaw club equalised. Few minutes later the same player managed to defeat Ciprian Tatarusanu for the second time. Nevertheless, the referee didn’t recognise the goal because one of Legia’s footballers was caught offside.
Later on, both teams seemed to become exhausted and they were trying their luck in counterattacks. However, the result didn’t change and the match finished with 1-1 draw.
The second leg takes place on Tuesday at 8.45 p.m. local time in Warsaw.
