Legia 5-0 Górnik Łęczna
Warsaw players demolished their rivals from Łęczna after winning 5-0 at Łazienkowska on Saturday evening. Nevertheless, the first half of the game which ended with 0-0 draw didn’t presage such a nice finish. Although Legia was trying to find the way to its rivals’ net, its attacks were ineffective because Górnik’s players defended their goal quite well. Sometimes Górnik’s goal resembled a real barricade – so many footballers from Łęczna were present in their own penalty area.
As it turned out, the remaining 45 minutes were much more interesting than the first half. Just after the break Legia was leading 1-0 – Tomasz Brzyski centred the ball from a corner kick and Legia’s captain Ivica Vrdoljak scored a nice header for his team. Legia’s fans didn’t have much time to let their emotions subside and they had to rejoice for the second time this evening when Jakub Kosecki made use of Miroslav Radović’s centre.
In the 64th minute of the match Tomasz Jodłowiec took the ball away from Lukas Bielak and passed it to Miroslav Radović, who was fouled in the penalty area by Tomislav Božić. The referee sent him off and Legia’s captain properly executed the penalty with a nice shot. Legia was leading 3-0.
Two minutes later Warsaw team’s coach decided to make a substitution – Marek Saganowski was replaced by Orlando Sa. And indeed, Henning Berg had a nose because Sa struck two more goals for Legia – first he scored a header and later a goal from a curved shot.
Eventually, Legia defeated 5-0 Górnik Łęczna in a potent way.
