Polish Cup: Podbeskidzie 1-4 Legia
In the first leg of the Polish Cup semifinal, which took place on Wednesday evening in Bielsko-Biała, Legia Warsaw outclassed 4-1 Podbeskidzie. The first goal was struck in the 24th minute by Michał Masłowski. Legia’s player decided to take a shot at rivals’ goal and scored the goal, indeed. Podbeskidzie’s goalkeeper made a terrible mistake. The football had glanced off in front of him and seeped through his hands.
Six minutes later Legia was leading 2-0. Tomasz Brzyski executed a corner kick, Ivica Vrdoljak jumped up in the penalty area and scored a nice header. In the 56th minute Marek Saganowski touched the ball in the penalty area which resulted in a penalty for the team from Bielsko-Biała. However, Adam Deja’s shot was perfectly saved by Dušan Kuciak. Fifteen minutes later Legia struck its third goal. Michał Kucharczyk ran a several dozen metres and he defeated Podbeskidzie’s goalkeeper with a nice and powerful shot. In the 84th minute a mistake was made by Legia’s Dominik Furman. Ex-Legia’s player Maciej Korzym took advantage of this mistake and found the way to the net. Nevertheless, this was the team from the capital of Poland that spelled it out. Jakub Kosecki defeated Podbeskidzie for the fourth time in the 87th minute and set the game’s final 4-1 result.
The second leg takes place at Łazienkowska on 8th April at 8.30 p.m. local time.
