After Ekstraklasa’s last fixture of the season 2010/2011 we know everything. The clubs relegated from Polish highest division are Arka Gdynia and Polonia Bytom. In turn, the following teams will participate in European games in the season 2011/2012: Wisła Cracow, Legia Warsaw, Śląsk Wrocław and Jagiellonia Białystok.

The penultimate fixture did not give us the final answers concerning teams which will be relegated from the Ekstraklasa and which will play in European games.

Current Polish champion Wisła Cracow was defeated 2-0 by Legia in Warsaw. Arka managed to win 2-1 its game against Polonia Bytom. Jagiellonia smashed 4-0 Korona Kielce and Lechia defeated 2-1 Lech Poznań.

Wisła Cracow became the champion of Polish Ekstraklasa thanks to its 1-0 victory over local Cracovia. Legia drew 0-0 with Jagiellonia in Białystok, finishing the match with only nine footballers on the field. Polonia Bytom lost its game with Górnik Zabrze. Śląsk defeated 4-2 GKS Bełchatów and jumped into the second position. Lechia drew goalless with Polonia Warsaw.

After 1-0 victory over Lech Poznań, Wisła Cracow has got nine points more than the second Jagiellonia Białystok. Thanks to defeating Zagłębie Lubin, Śląsk Wrocław occupies the third position in the league table. Due to Cracovia’s 2-1 victory over Polonia Bytom, the team from Cracow does not occupy the last position anymore. At present, its former place is occupied by Arka. The team from Gdynia was not able to defeat Ruch Chorzów. Korona, which was leading 2-0 with Korona, was eventually beaten 3-2 by the team from Kielce. That is why Legia’s players slid to the fifth place.

Legia managed to defeat 3-1 Korona Kielce although the team from Warsaw had to play its game without presence of its audience. Two goals were scored by Miroslav Radović. Ruch drew 2-2 with Zagłębie Lubin. Cracovia defeated 3-1 Polonia Warsaw in Cracow. Lech won 2-0 its match against Górnik Zabrze though the team from Poznań also had to play the game without supporters in the stands. Unbelievably, Jagiellonia lost 1-3 with Widzew in Białystok. Wisła defeated 3-0 Lechia in Gdańsk.

Both leading teams – Wisła and Jagiellonia – lost points. Eventually, Legia managed to win its first match since the beginning of March. Footballers from Warsaw defeated 1-0 Widzew Łódź. Lechia drew 2-2 with Arka in Gdynia thanks to great performance of its players in the last few minutes of the match.

Jagiellonia defeated 2-0 Górnik Zabrze. Śląsk managed to win its match against Wisła Cracow in Wrocław. Legia lost 1-2 its game against Lechia in Gdańsk and occupies the seventh position in the league table. Lech drew goalless with GKS Bełchatów. Polonia managed to beat 4-0 its rivals from Gdynia.

Górnik drew goalless with Lechia. Wisła scored its next three points in Cracow. Legia was defeated 1-0 by Lech in Poznań. Widzew drew with Ruch. Due to a lighting failure the referee added 23 minutes in the match between Zagłębie and Jagiellonia. Arka defeated 3-0 its rival from Cracow.

GKS Bełchatów drew with Górnik Zabrze and Lech was defeated by Polonia on Friday. Jan Urban could be partly happy with his return to Warsaw because his Zagłębie drew 2-2 with Legia on Saturday. Few seconds before the end of the game against Wisła, Korona saved the draw. Jagiellonia took advantage of leader’s lapse and defeated 1-0 Arka.

There were two draws on Friday – neither Lechia nor GKS Bełchatów were able to defeat each other, Lech in turn couldn’t defeat Śląsk and its match finished with a 2-2 result. Zagłębie won its game against Polonia Bytom on Saturday. Legia was defeated 3-2 by Ruch although it was leading 2-0! Korona lost 1-3 with Polonia Warsaw and eventually, Wisła won 2-0 its match with Jagiellonia. The team from Cracow, which currently occupies the first position in the league table, has got eight points more than the second Jagiellonia.

In the great Silesian derby match Ruch defeated 3-0 Górnik Zabrze. Śląsk was able to win 2-1 its game against Lechia in Gdańsk. Jagiellonia lost 0-2 its match with Lech in Poznań. Legia’s players demonstrate a very poor performance – this time they were defeated 2-0 by their rivals from Bełchatów. Unexpectedly, Wisła Cracow only drew 2-2 with Polonia in Bytom.

Legia was defeated 2-1 by Śląsk Wrocław on Friday evening. Górnik drew 2-2 with Arka in Zabrze. Ruch Chorzów managed to win its game against GKS Bełchatów. The current leader goes with the punch – Wisła won its third match this round, this time defeating 2-0 Widzew Łódź. Jagiellonia lost 1-2 with Lechia in Białystok. Eventually, Cracovia defeated 1-0 Lech Poznań.

Wisła Cracow defeated 3-1 Ruch Chorzów on Friday. Jagiellonia drew 0-0 with GKS in Bełchatów. Lech defeated Arka in Gdynia in the last five minutes of the game. Górnik Zabrze outclassed 5-1 Zagłębie Lubin. Widzew won 3-1 its match. Eventually, Legia managed to defeat 1-0 its local rival Polonia in the derby game on Sunday.

After several mistakes of its own defence and of the referee Legia lost two valuable points in the game against Cracovia on Friday. Wisła managed to defeat 1-0 Arka in Gdynia. There were three draws on Saturday and Lech won 1-0 its match against Widzew Łódź on Sunday. The game between Jagiellonia and Śląsk was postponed to March, 8th.

There were three draws in the 15th fixture of Polish Ekstraklasa – one point was won by six teams: Arka Gdynia, Śląsk Wrocław, Korona Kielce, Lech Poznań, Ruch Chorzów and Jagiellonia Białystok. People who were able to see the game between Cracovia Cracow and GKS Bełchatów on Friday must have been shocked with the final result, because players from Bełchatów were leading 2-0 until the 85th minute.

There were no draws in the fourteenth fixture of Polish Ekstraklasa. Moreover, in all games these were the host teams which managed to defeat their rivals.

Jagiellonia Białystok drew 1-1 with Korona Kielce. Wisła Cracow irrevocably crushed 4-0 Legia’s footballers at Reymonta. Widzew drew 2-2 with Cracovia in Łódź. Górnik Zabrze painfully lost 0-4 with Śląsk in Wrocław. Lech managed to win its game against Lechia Gdańsk. Polonia defeated 3-1 Ruch in Warsaw.

In the last few seconds of its match Wisła managed to defeat 1-0 Cracovia at its stadium. Legia continues its run of good luck – this time footballers of Warsaw beat 2-0 Ekstraklasa’s leaders Jagiellonia Białystok. Lech lost 0-1 with Ruch in Chorzów and is penultimate in the league table. Results:

In the 10th fixture of Polish Ekstraklasa there were some unexpected results. Korona was beaten 4-1 by Legia in Kielce on Friday. The current leader – Jagiellonia – was defeated 4-1 by Widzew on Saturday. Wisła managed to win 5-2 its game against Lechia Gdańsk. Lech lost its fourth match in a row – this time players from Poznań were defeated 2-0 by footballers from Zabrze. Results:

In the 9th fixture Legia eventually managed to win 1-0 its game against Widzew in Łódź. Jagiellonia defeated 3-0 Polonia Bytom. Lech lost its third match in a row. Results of the 9th fixture:

In the 8th fixture of Polish Ekstraklasa Legia and Lech lost their matches. Wisła and Polonia drew goalless their games in Cracow and Gdynia. Jagiellonia managed to win its match against Górnik in Zabrze. Results of the 8th fixture:

There were lots of emotions at Legia’s stadium on Friday evening where Warsaw team managed to defeat 2-1 footballers from Poznań. Polonia only drew 2-2 with its namesake from Bytom on Saturday. Widzew drew 1-1 with Ruch Chorzów. Thanks to Jagiellonia’s victory over Zagłębie the team from Białystok is still the first in the league. Wisła drew 1-1 with GKS in Bełchatów on Sunday.

Wisła is in a crisis – this time footballers from Cracow only drew 2-2 with Korona Kielce. The other Cracovian team is in a bad disposition, too – Cracovia didn’t manage to score even a point in six games. Widzew beat 5-2 Śląsk in Łódź. Surprisingly, Arka defeated 1-0 Jagiellonia Białystok. Legia lost the third match in a row – Warsaw players lost 1-2 their game against Zagłębie in Lubin.

Jagiellonia managed to defeat 2-1 Wisła Cracow in Białystok. Polonia Bytom won 2-0 its match against Zagłębie Lubin. Legia didn’t manage to stop its run of bad luck in matches against Ruch Chorzów and lost 0-1 for the third time. Unbelievably Korona Kielce defeated 3-1 Polonia in Warsaw.

Legia managed to defeat 1-0 Śląsk in Wrocław on Friday. Thanks to Sobiech’s and Smolarek’s goals Polonia defeated 2-1 Zagłębie Lubin in Warsaw. Wisła won 1-0 its game against Widzew in Łódź. Lech outclassed Cracovia thanks to its 5-0 victory in Poznań. Eventually, Jagiellonia managed to win 2-1 its match against Lechia in Gdańsk.

Polonia defeated 3-0 Legia in the derby game on Friday. There were a lot of goals in Cracow where Śląsk managed to win 3-2 its match against Cracovia. Lech only drew 1-1 with Arka on Saturday. Surprisingly, Ruch beat 2-0 Wisła on Sunday.

After few months footballers returned on Polish pitches. Fixtures of the season 2010/2011 were inaugurated on Friday – GKS Bełchatów defeated 2-0 Polonia Bytom and Górnik Zabrze lost 0-2 with Polonia Warsaw. Widzew Łódź managed to draw 1-1 its match against Lech Poznań. Wisła Cracow won 1-0 its game against Arka Gdynia. Due to the opening of Legia’s new stadium and its friendly match against Arsenal, the game against Cracovia Cracow has been rescheduled to Monday, 16th August.

Lech Poznań became the champion of the season 2009/2010 and is going to play in the qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Wisła Cracow and Ruch Chorzów are going to play in the qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Legia closed the season with fourth-place finish. Two Silesian clubs have been relegated to the Polish First Division, namely: Piast Gliwice and Odra Wodzisław Śląski.
