UEFA Champions League: The New Saints FC 1-3 Legia Warsaw

In the first leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League Legia’s footballers managed to defeat 3-1 their Welsh rivals on Wednesday evening. However, the first half of the game wasn’t too optimistic for the Polish team. Legia played poorly then.
Besides, thanks to Fraughan’s goal in the twelfth minute, these were players of the New Saints FC who were happily leading 1-0 after the first forty-five minutes. They could have been leading even more if Darlington’s shot had found its way to Legia’s net.
Fortunately, the other part of the match was much better. It’s hard to say what Warsaw club’s coach Jan Urban said to his players during the break but he definitely forced them somehow to fight for each every ball. The dialogue must have been successful because in the first minutes of the second half Michał Kucharczyk equalised. Legia’s players were attacking the Welsh net practically all the time and this resulted in next goals: first of Marek Saganowski and then of Jakub Kosecki.
Eventually, Legia won 3-1 in Wales.
